Biography

When Rachel Veed was three year old, she first discovered horses. Her sister's boyfriend rode and owned horses, and that's where the smallest beginnings became the biggest love of Rachel's life. By the time she was six years old, she was borrowing the neighbors' horses and jumping fences bareback, just to experience the sheer exhilaration of the ride.
Learning by trial and error, Rachel borrowed and worked her neighbors' horses becoming a proficient and skillful rider on her own. As a youngster in grade school she started attending horse shows, and through her own experiences, unwavering perseverance, watching and learning from others, and dedicated and persistent practice, Rachel Veed started winning in show after show. At age 19, with an impressive riding and showmanship record already established, she decided to use professional trainers for the very first time in her life.
Rachel perfected her skills and riding dimensions taking every possible professional and Olympic clinic that she could. She then put into practice what she learned from top-notch riding trainers and instructors. Today, she is well-qualified and totally competent to teach beginning to advanced riders as well as to assist riders in training and working with their own horses.
It is Rachels' belief that horses needs a clear concept of what the rider is asking, otherwise, the animal becomes insecure and confused. She believes that it is not bad horses that create problems for riders, but rather riders who give their horse conflicting or confusing directions and signals. As an expert rider and communicator she believes that knowing and understanding a horses' behavior is key to any equine discipline. It is important to know how to talk to horses, not only with words and reining, but with body language and unobservable body-to-horse signals. Even slight shifts of weight in the saddle, or mere touches of the body or reins, are used to let a trained horse know what is expected.
After countless students and many years of riding experience, she is quite capable of transferring her knowledge to you and your horse through effective communication. Students of all skill levels are welcomed.
