JUST A FEW HUMAN THOUGHTS:

I view Rachel as dedicated and loyal to both her family and occupation. And, in Rachel’s choice of occupation as a horse trainer and riding instructor - calm, un-reactive demeanor is absolutely necessary. It appears important to her that her children have good values and are not lazy. I have witnessed them helping with normal household chores and the daily tasks associated with Rachel’s business, though, with some grumbling that seemed "normal" to me, they feed, water the horses and help with other related chores. And toward striking a good balance, she encourages outside activities as well. Many times I have seen her restructure her business (in essence, her paycheck) so that the boys could play football, baseball, and wrestling and attend the Little Britches Rodeo’s - clearly showing that their well being is priority. I can not recall a time that I have ever encountered Rachel to be anything other than positive in any circumstance, and to say that Rachel has taught me so many things – horse and life related – would be a huge understatement. She can be credited for being positive in any circumstance and for being a role model to many. Despite the circumstances which they find themselves in, I have found Rachel’s children to be well behaved and adjusted. They always appear to be interested in their surroundings, behaved for children of their ages and capable of making decisions based on surroundings, I think a credit to Rachel’s parenting. Too often today one encounters children without the social skills to interact with others, much less adults, nor being capable of making decisions. These children are really refreshing, and have always been respectful and helpful, not only with me, but also with others. I hope that you find this information helpful in your assessment. To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter on behalf of Rachel Veed, who I have known for three years. I first met Rachel when my son was taking horseback riding lessons from her. Rachel was very professional and caring as an instructor and I felt quite comfortable having her instruct my son. Rachel was attentive to all of the students and very safety conscious with regards to the students and her own children around the horses

Sincerely,

Margie Ashura

I have known Rachel for about 4 months now. I met her when I hired her to train a horse for me. Through this time I have gotten to know her and have observed her on several occasions with both the horses and her children. As a mother and a woman in the horse business myself, I know that it takes a great deal of patience, understanding, self-control, kindness and a firmness to produce a healthy, happy, safe horse. Many of the same attributes that are required to raise a healthy, happy child with a sense of responsibility. The horse I sent to her is a bit of a problem child, and she has turned him into a calm, happy, wonderful mount. I have never seen her lose her temper with any of the animals or children. I have seen her receive respect and affection from her children and animals. Not an easy task when you are dealing with teens and horses!

I have been involved in the horse business in one form or another for over 20 years. It is a very difficult industry. Those that are involved in it have to have dedication, willingness to sacrifice, a true heart for it, and an unbelievable work ethic. I have seen all of these in Rachel. I can’t think of better attributes for a mom. I have known many mothers whose chosen profession has involved horses, and they have been the best and most dedicated mothers I have ever met.
